Re: Jam Session

Well it's a little after June 10th, but get to know how do pull up a cool mode on the KAOSS pad. And you can make some mid range ambient noise to go wit the guitar and bass by making a little loop of 16th notes and turning the delay WAY up, to make it just sound like ambient noise.

Re: Influences

I could list bands, but I think the tones I get out of the DS lean towards NES 8 bit, because of my unconditional love for the music of the NES Megaman games (Especially Megaman 5, 3, and 2).
I love Ben Frost, Pink Floyd, Aphex Twin, and Primus (to name some off the cuff).

This stuff is awesome. I especially like the slower ones, like the twelfth one.

Re: Decktonic - Sentinel

Yeah I usually end up having to turn everything else down to match one synth that's just quiet by nature to accommodate. Another weakness is that the volume isn't even with one synth across pitch. If you get a good bass sound it often translates to that same synth sounding bad on higher frequencies ...

Re: new song: "you drink too much"

yeah it sounds like you got the swing on, but it's hard to tell with the echo.

Re: Decktonic - Sentinel

This was cool, I think the only thing that would sound cooler is a deeper kick drum. And I don't know what you're using to record but maybe raising the bass frequency in the mix. And as far as I'm concerned this is an actual song.

That was pretty sweet. Am I an idiot or do you listen to jazz sometimes?

Re: Ambient Track

Thanks, I was going for Deep atmosphere.
And it's already as echoey as possible. The higher humming chord is achieved with 8th notes with the feedback on delay turned almost all the way up.

Re: Ambient Track

Thanks. Yeah, the noise is intentional. It adds a another dimension, and there's lot's of cool overtones that just were by-products of the synth. It sounded a little cleaner through the DSi when I got it, but I liked the noise better. It seemed to lack without it. But that's just me.

Ambient Track

My first ambient track on the DS, recorded live into a Boss Micro BR digital recorder. Any questions, comments?

Re: Ideas for DS-10 / DS-20 / New KORG DS Products

I almost always record my songs live (i.e. not in song mode), so the feature I would most want is this: When you're selecting a pattern with "lock" on, you can't switch to the synth/kaoss/whatever other screens or it stays on the pattern you're on, you have to wait for it to change. I would like the...

Re: New track with a little patch cable experimentation

Yeah, I'm constantly fighting the 10/16 or whatever bit sound of the DS. It's hard to get it to sound full compared to real instruments, that's usually what I try and achieve; it sounding complete and full. I was thinking about rerecording this one with some reverb added to the whole thing. Do you t...

New track with a little patch cable experimentation

This is the first song I wrote (on the DS anyways) after I finished my first album. I was trying to make more "wet" sounds, with lots of depth. What do you guys think?

Vector Wolf - Incipient Machinery

Hi, my name is Victor, I'm from the U.S. and I study music at NOC (Northern Oklahoma College) I've been using my Korg for a year now (or so) and I'm up to two copies and a plus. I released an album a couple months ago made entirely by the Korg DS 10, under the artist name Vector Wolf. The title of t...

Re: Altering Drum Hits

I've often used the drums (before I had plus) as a third tone. I just turn the gate on and get as little attack at the beginning as possible, the only downside is a clicking noise at the start of notes, but it gets the tonal job done.
