Re: Tuning drums

Although it often is the longer sounds you'd want to put in the synth, there can be occasions where a longer sound can have an effect in the drums too. What you'll need to know is that the lower the pitch on the drum sound, the longer it can last. So if you make a sound that you like, make sure you ...

Re: Live problem... tempo slowing?

This could actually be the cause of the problem: The DS and DS Lite have different clockspeeds. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason for this problem's existance is because the DS simply isn't fast enough and is slightly off.

Cool notations Syscrusher. :)

And I don't mind it at all that you did it.

I wonder though, what is D.S. al Coda?

Re: Live problem... tempo slowing?

It can be a psychological thingy...

If you want the song to go faster, you can get ahead of the notes, and the song might feel slower. (same works the other way around; if you want the song to go slower, it might seem too fast)

Re: Korg DS-10 Notation Initiative

Ah, you're right. Its a C7, not Cmaj7. :) To illustrate my previous post about how notation should be used to lay down the melody and the keys, to allow anyone to play it like that, I made an example recording of me actually performing the song on my keyboard. I recorded this in 1080p quality and ju...

Re: Ways of making a song?

I also track half-speed most of the time, and I even have one song where I go into the extreme: quatrain-speed (1/4th speed). This song is not yet released though. I usually start with an idea (overall kind of sound) that I want to accomplish, because they come with certain design requirements. For ...

Re: Korg DS-10 Notation Initiative

eight9, First of all, I'm honored that you're using my song for this example. :) I do have some things to add in this discussion that hasn't been mentioned before. First of all, lets compare this to an original notation, like sheet music. Sheet music is being used to notate the notes so it can be ea...

Re: LPChip - Construction *new just released song*

Thanks for your comment bryface. I actually was not after Hiphop. I just noticed some similarities with hiphop. I might create a faster song in the future. I still have 2 not so fast songs to be released, and I plan to start working on the DS-10plus then. (I'll not count the Alien Remix that I start...

LPChip - Construction *new just released song*

This can very well be my best Korg DS-10 song. One of the things that I have in this song that I haven't had before is an insane good quality. The bass is really deep and the high parts are very crisp too. I build a very chill setting here, almost hiphop like. And if you think it can't be better, a ...

Re: looking for a ride cymbal patch

If you want a long delay as with a crash cymbal, you would be better of using syn1 or syn2. If you set notes to legato, you can use the delay for a long fading crash sound.

The sound itself should be possible with just noise and a bandpass filter with high resonance.

LPChip - Trip

This time, I wanted to make a song that progresses as it goes. My other songs all have some form of repetition where patterns are being reused. This time, I also wanted to do something different than usual. Not just record my DS playing the song, but actually enhance the experience. To do that, I di...

Re: LPChip - Walking

Thanks Syscrusher :) I actually have no idea what I would do if I would create this on the DS-10+. I am not going to do that, simply because it would be bad for this version. If I go for a DS-10+ sound-a-like, it'll be a different song with a similar buildstyle. That way it'll give something new and...
