Eat the Beaterator

Here's one I created a few hours ago on a Nintendo DS-Lite using Korg DS-10 Plus. Im terribly sorry about the horrible noise though. I think its my cable, but Im still trying to figure it out.

ChrisLody wrote:I'd like to help you with the hiss but that's a bit hard as it could be the sample rate of ds-10 causing it, your soundcard or some of your sounds. I didn't think it spoilt the track anyway, i kind of gives it that 'shoe gaze' type of vibe :D
Thanks ChrisLody :D

The Journey

I dunno how to deal with the hisses and tons of technical difficulties with this one. It sounds nice in the DS, but sounds terribly wrong on the PC. Anyways, here it is. Recorded on NDS Lite, with no overdubs.

Re: Korg DS-10 Notation Initiative

Just as a side note: The octave designation used on the DS-10 (C3, C4 etc) is a universal octave designation system employed by the Acoustical Society of America. It's usage is widespread. Here it is on the keyboard: graphics1.png Here it is on the staff: octavecolor.png @LPchip - The second chord ...

Re: Korg DS-10 Notation Initiative

If you literally want to copy someone else's song why not use screenshots or extracted saves? taking pictures is a bitch and the quality sucks. I agreee with decktonic on this matter. and aside from that, taking the example that I made, if i wasnt the original composer of the song, how will i be ab...

Re: Korg DS-10 Notation Initiative

Below is an original music of LPChip titled "Walking" 1dYURX8B0c0 If I were to transcribe the intro (0:20 to 0:35), it would be this way: Initializations: BPM=90 Step=12 Pattern 1: SYN1 SEQ: 1(X),2(X),3(G4),4(X),5(C5),6(X),7(C4),8(C4),9(G4),10(G4),11(C5),12(X) SYN2 SEQ: 1(C3),2(X),3(X),4(X),5(X),6(X...

Re: Korg DS-10 Notation Initiative

How would you approach sharps and flats? What about keys other than C major? For instance 1(C3),2(D3),3X,4(E3) does not transpose relatively to 1(E3),2(F3),3X,4(G3)- meaning the melody is not the same in both instances. What about notes that are sustained or played legato? For the sharps and flats,...

Re: Korg DS-10 Notation Initiative

First and foremost, I am very happy about all the different feedback from everyone. When I first thought about these "notations" I was really at a lost on how to present it in a way that majority would be able to understand how to read them through the methodologies that I was suggesting. And I am v...

Re: Quirks of DS-10 (Bugs)

I've got a cool bug that I used in my song Walking. If you have a patch that uses the Porta knob set to anything but zero (bottom left), and you have an effect with a delay on that synth, you can actually hear a bug. Enter some melody in the pattern screen, and make sure that the last note has a 10...

Re: Ways of making a song?

Hi everyone, I was attracted by the thread title: "Ways of Making a Song". I hope you can take the time to visit my post on how to make notations with Korg DS-10, cause I am hoping that it could be considered as "Another Way to Making A Song" via notations.
