Re: Keyboard Advice

Axfinger,

Dont forget to check out ebay and craigslist, or your local pawnshops. Its a good means to finding discontinued gear. Good luck in your searches!

Re: Keyboard Advice

I think any of the Yamaha PSR series keyboards will serve you well. Here's another decent one also from Yamaha http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-YPT-230-Premium-Keyboard-Headphones/dp/B005N4N2GC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1360767262&sr=8-1&keywords=yamaha+keyboard Almost all of these types of Yamaha keyboard...

Re: No dual mode in Korg DS-10 ROM ?

Well first of all make sure the version you ahve is DS-10+.

What country do you reside in? I'm sure you can have the cartridge shipped over, and there's definitely different regional versions to accomodate.

Re: Korg Ms-20 Reissue

Its now up on Korg's US site: http://korg.com/MS20mini I want one, too, but I just bought a minibrute last month. My girlfriend will also say the same thing, and likely complain that I sink too much money into audio gear. Oh well. If anything, perhaps I'll pick one up much later in the year. The onl...

Korg Ms-20 Reissue

If any of you are following NAMM 2013, there's plenty of rumors floating around that Korg is re-releasing the Korg MS-20. Here's the chance for all of us DS-10 heads to get our hands on a real deal version. http://www.vintagesynth.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=70184 There was a link to a german site...

Re: Automatizations in Korg DS-10 Plus

Very simple: Use the KAOSS pads. Go to #3 and change to the values you need. By default they are on PEAK and CUTOFF.

For fine tuning, go to the Sequencer, and go to the X and Y screens where you can put in a value for each step.

Hydrogen 9 - Korg DS10 track

Here's a link to a track I did on the ds10. Let me know what you think, or if it reminds you of anything.

Re: Baroque Instrument Patches?

I've decided against imitating the instruments. I'm going to rethink the sounds in my own way. Thanks, though, for your help. Better off, anyway. Remember, as dope as electronic is, it simply can't EVER recreate acoustic...most acoustic instruments have been refined over hundreds of years...and som...

Re: Ambient comp maybe?

yes i agree....more difficult than it appears. (I haven't even considered the song title yet!...though to be honest work has kept me very busy and oftentimes away from the DS-10). The exclusion of drums definitely makes it challenging.

Re: Something that would be really useful

The patch screen probably takes the most time to learn, i think. But it can be the most rewarding (not to mention recording motion sequences a la KAOSS 3 parameters). Start with the MG waves: Triangle - tends to make the sound go up and down, depending on freq and intensity. Square - Same thing, but...

Re: and what baut NOT DUBSTEP, but old NES/GB sound?

what baut old warmy nes/gameboy sounds? Yep, big time. The short answer, start with a square wave on OSC1. There are plenty of patches listed on this forum already, just search for them, as well as stuff on other sites. But there really is no one single definitive "Nes" sound, the ds-10 broadly fit...

Re: glitch/minimal sounds

For ambient sounds, the delay works really well if you crank up feedback and make it completely wet.
Also in the EG, put on a long release so the notes last, and experiment with patching so that you have sounds that evolve over a few measures.

Introducing Me

Whats up everyone. Just wanted to formally introduce myself to the forums here. I just joined, but I have been frequenting this site for most of 2011, so I'm pretty familiar with it. Love the DS-10+...in fact it reshaped how I thought about music, etc. A truly amazing device. Only thing, I've yet to...
