Re: BR00T4L BASS drop 808

In that case, I'll probably end up getting a DSI, an XL, and a 3DS XL. I'd like to test them out myself anyway.

Vessel remix

Since it seems like quite a few people here like NIN, I figured I'd link to this. I did this remix back when Year Zero came out since it included all the master files on DVD. I chose to remix Vessel because it was my least favorite song. I did this using Acid Pro on a company laptop when my job invo...

Re: Droid Sector bass?

Yeah the closest I got so far was by using both synths so I could get more articulation. Well, I tried using three synths and Decktonic is right, it seems almost impossible to get any kind of grit without bit crushing. If you're going to do post-processing anyway, I would just record the synth part...

Re: BR00T4L BASS drop 808

It's been about a decade since I touched a DS Lite and I've never actually used a DSi before, so I can't say for sure, but I just read this comment on Youtube: The new DSi is the first Nintendo handheld to have true 16 bit 44-khz output. Athough the GBA and DS fat/lite supported 16 bit internal mix...

Re: DS sampling BS?

Speaking of sampling, I was perusing the Play store yesterday and came across this (I bought it):

I'd love to have something like that for the DS, but I imagine it would be limited by processing power (although I doubt it would have nearly the overhead or latency of an Android device).

Exactly. Copy your synth settings from pattern 3 to pattern 4 to make sure that they are set the same and use a series of legato notes.

Re: RECORDINGS -> Recording audio from DS to your computer...

Well, according to the Alesis web site, the Multimix comes with Cubase. You could use that, or you could download Audacity (which is a seriously powerful program considering it's free), but yes, you need something that can record an input.

You're insane. White text on a black background is SO much easier on the eyes, I have no idea why more websites don't do it.

Re: Normalize? How to...

BTW fluid, I checked out your stuff. Sounds Good!! Thanks! I make music with other stuff, too, but DS-10 is pretty easy to mix with only 6 parts. If it's just a matter of making sure the audio levels match, I'd just record them through Audacity and use the normalize function to normalize the peak j...

Re: Normalize? How to...

Yeah, for DS-10 I just tweak the tracks over and over until it sounds right. Then if I have to, I'll normalize it (although the three tracks I posted here didn't require much to get them all at the same level).

Re: Caustic for Android

Caustic is awesome, well worth the money. Be sure to check out the sound packs available in the Play store, too. I was just playing earlier today with an Amen kit that sounded pretty sweet. There's a number of demo packs that are free. Also, with version 2, the machines are replaceable. You can remo...

Re: BR00T4L BASS drop 808

Sounds simple enough to me, a sine wave with a low-pass filter set very low. Problem is, when I make this sound on my DS, it adds a bunch of fuzz/noise, which kinda ruins it. I guess the DS itself would need a low-pass filter to block such noise.

Re: Droid Sector bass?

I like how atonal it is. I can actually figure out a lot of what is going on, but I'm still scratching my head a bit. There is an impressive array of textures in that. I'm not really a fan of the wobble bass on the DS-10, though. It usually just sounds like an LFO on a filter to me. Dubstep bass sou...

Thanks for the kind words. I actually really enjoy listening to these for some reason. I love the subtle effects you can create using both hard and soft panning.

Re: Normalize? How to...

Oh, okay. In that case, you'd want to normalize both files to the same peak. Audacity can do that.

Sorry, I sort of misunderstood the first time I read it.

Re: Normalize? How to...

Normalizing won't change volume respective to other volume, all it will do is uniformly adjust the audio signal relative to a certain value, depending on the normalization and what values you select. If you want to make a quieter part louder, I'd suggest you apply some compression. Or actually, a si...
