can you please clarify something for me what I'm not yet 100% certain about:

when I would use a USB Mixer device like for example the Alesis Multimix 4 USB, then for the recording I would still need recording software like for example Audacity installed on my PC (Windows xP) , is that correct?

Well, according to the Alesis web site, the Multimix comes with Cubase. You could use that, or you could download Audacity (which is a seriously powerful program considering it's free), but yes, you need something that can record an input.

A lite version most likely. I got that with my Zoom recorder too I think (which can also serve as a USB audio interface by the way).

Hey there, totally new to KORG DS-10+ but I'm looking to make the audio move from my 3DS headphone jack to the MacBook?

I bought a stereo male-to-male assuming the headphone jack on the 3DS and the MacBook would transfer sound but nothing seems to pick up when I hit record. The MacBook doesn't recognize the 3DS as a valid input and all I get is the surrounding ambient noise.

Sorry if this has been answered (I thought it had) but every answer doesn't seem to fix the problem.

My goal is to be able to play live from the 3DS... This is feasible, right?

Thank you :)

How many DS'es can you record at once? Two?
So if I want to record 4 DS'es I'd need two of these?

Also, can I plug a microphone in UCA202?

I am also looking at
http://www.alesis.com/multimix4usb

Alesis Multimix 4 USB.
It should be possible to connect up to four DS via Line in + microphone.

Would that work? Thanks for the help.

You need two channels for each DS for simultaneous recording in stereo. Do you need to record simultaneously for performance reasons?

I use one of these:
http://www.alesis.com/io26

It's firewire, has midi in and out, 8 channels with pretty darn good pre-amps for the price, inserts for every channel, xlr and 1/4" ins, 8 1/4" outs, SPDIF, 2(!) adat ins.

I got mine on ebay for less than $200 to my door.

Guys, it looks like this baby will help:

http://artproaudio.com/artcessories/min ... splitmix4/

It's cheap, AND IT'S GOT STEREO INPUTS!!!!!!

This means you just need 1 normal3.5mm stereo cable ( I suggest you go High Quality) and a Stereo Jack adapter for each DS you want to use. . . and then 1 stereo ouput straight to your powered speakers or Mixing Desk/PA

I'll report back on this when I recieve mine this week- it's not powered so great for busking and portability although it may reduce levels somewhat - I'm going to use it on my boat staight into my 12v JBL Creature III PC speakers ( pretty damn good subwoofer and satelites for £50!!!) all powered by solar panels :).
It means I can mix everything on my DS's ( 4 of them!) and just plug into the Venue PA for gigs!

Let em know what you think!

Ok. Update on the splitmix4. .
All the inputs need to be pre Amped. Ds output is too low. This box of tricks is no good for 2 or more ds consoles.
