"Learning How to Compose using M01" by Detune

Post by mistyminds » Wed Mar 09, 2011 3:11 pm

News for those who may be interested -

Detune will be holding Beginner's classes on
how to compose music using M01,
for 5 consecutive Saturdays starting from 3/12.
They will be broadcasting these classes live on ustream at the following link.

http://www.ustream.tv/channel/detune-live
Sat. 2pm-3:30pm(JST/GMT+9)
5 wks starting from March 12(Sat)

I believe Sano-san will be the lecturer, and I heard that
a few students have already been selected for the class.
The studio is located in a cafe in downtown Tokyo,
and anyone is welcome to sit in and watch,
so I wouldn't be surprised if we should happen
to catch a glimpse of some of the well-known
DS-10/M01 players in Japan.

Unfortunately all conversations will be in the local language,
so unless you are fairly fluent in Japanese, I would assume
that it would be pretty difficult to follow what is being said.
However, I am more than happy to volunteer to
translate what is going on in the classes, if anyone should be interested.
I am not sure if I would be able to join to watch every class,
but if I am able to, I will try to help out as much as possible.

cheers,

hey mistyminds, thanks for posting this info again! I think that's 9pm Vancouver Time if i'm not mistaken - not sure if i'll be around to catch the stream but i'm sure some of the folks here would love to check it out.

and thanks for offering to translate too. are you sure that isn't too much of an imposition though? especially for those outside Japan who don't even have access to the M01 (well, legally anyway)..

how do you see yourself providing the translation? by spamming your twitter feed, or by providing a summary of the event after it's happened?

once again, thanks for going the extra mile =)

Due to the earthquake last Friday, this class has been
postponed to a later date.

I have been using my twitter account mistyminds for
realtime translations of ustream DJ shows, etc in Japan.
I am not sure how I will go about for the M01 classes,
but if I happen to see someone listening on during the
class and if that person requests for language help,
I will try to help out as much as I can.

If no one shows up, I won't be doing anything =D

cheers,
