M01 Rush Hour < Scenic Route (wats a genre)

Post by Tyrannus » Wed Aug 28, 2013 8:05 pm

Messed up the end slightly.. Ran out of scenes and had to loop em by hand.

Feedback.. Good/bad? What could be done better?

EDIT: Fixed some things percussion-wise, as well as editing the outro melody. Re-recorded and re-uploaded.

It sounds good to me. I was reading at the same time, but I didn't hear anything messing up towards the end. Very cool track. :)

Genre is definitely house.

Excellent use of the pads. I would have preferred the closed hi-hat to be slightly tighter. You can speed them up to make them shorter in M01.
Around 1:50, the sine sound is kinda muddy, try making the pad notes that play around the same frequencies more quiet for that part, it would really do service for the sine sound to stand out a bit more

Another idea I had, there could be some kind of bass near the end. I really like the melodies at the end, a bass could give it more emphasis.

Overall, I like it and would love to hear more of something like this!
