Remix comp?

I was thinking it would be a cool idea if we can get a remix comp going. maybe we can remix our favorite songs or we can match people up and remix each others. Just thought it would be interesting and fun. I have never been in included in a comp before even though ive been on the forum for like a year or two, and have never had to time to be apart of any do to high school which im glad to say im done with. I also thought thought it would be cool to get some of the newer members to be apart of it. Idk. If you have any ideas post em or if anyone wants to take over the idea since im not really that experienced with this kinda stuff, feel free.

I already plan to do a remix for a fellow DS10 artist, so I would have something to submit for this.

Well I guess what we should do now is ask around and claim an artist on the forum and track to remix if they give you there permission. we should try not to have repeat artists and try our best to get everyone involved to remix a track and have one of their own tracks remixed. Once we get enough people participating that have discussed with fellow artists and have chosen a track we can get a list going. You should also discuss with the artist you are working with to provide maybe a song file or patches and what not. All sounds should be created on the ds10/ds10+ but you are not limited to create and finish everything in one song file and recording it. feel free to add, chop, alter, more effects and sounds from your ds10/ds10+ in your recording process.

Hey, so is this gonna be only remixing other songs made on the DS10 originally? I have a couple of remixes from people like Radiohead and Bonobo in the works for ages (not to mention I've been trying to make dub with various riddims, which would most definitely fill the bill for remix, no?). Sounds lots of fun and like the OP I've never been part of any comp. before even if I've been posting ocassionally here for over 2 years I believe. It would be exciting to finally try it out

How about we try to fix a date around March or April? That will give plenty of time, and at the same time make us feel we have a deadline and the project doesn't fade... just sayin'

April sounds good to me. Im trying to release an EP that ive put on hold for a while now due to school and work so i have alot of work ahead me so April would be better. As remixing other tracks non DS made: I to have a bunch of remixes of non DS made songs but i think remixing each others would be a little more interesting. We will happens though. Try to post any finished remixes on this thread using your soundcloud. If we have enough by April we will see to putting it together.
