Whaha nice.

Here a nice one from Louderbach, combining new wave with minimal techno. Album is ok but some tracks really stand out:

I like lots of music that's 'experimental' with a twist of playfulness... case in point... Battles... can't get enough.

Also Squarepusher... one of my favorites. During my best days of music production I think of myself as doing what Tom Jenkinson does with 1/199th of the talent.

Also Fourtet

And also the requisite videogame music/older stuff... like Kraftwerk and YMO... and various rock and quirky music like Sparks....

Music is the pleasure the human soul experiences from counting without being aware that it is counting. - Gottfried Leibniz

Never heard them bofore, I like it a lot.

Don't know how much it influences me, but Im listening to Euros childs music at the moment.

Also a big fan of Ivor Cutler.

I also really enjoyed Moldovas entry to this years eurosvision song contest, quit possible the most emotionally stirring piece of music released so far this century.

This is probably one of the best solo's writen by Tony Banks, keyboardist from Genesis. This video shows the solo played by some dude, but with the similar synth. The ARP Pro-Soloïst.

Since this is a monophonic synth, I might cover this solo with the DS-10. If I can find out the notes :D

Nice isn't! Fore some reason I always had an aversion for "presetsynths", but I might reconsider my opinion;)

Tortoise- Seneca This song is from their album "Standards"

Love the texture of this music. Very inspiring...makes me want to recover some pseudo-rock DS10 tracks from a while ago.

I find the subject of inspiration/influence very interesting!
Hard for me to pin down what actually influences me when i make music myself.
But if i have to go to the music that really stuck with me since i was a kid i would have to say:

Bands/Groups:
Blink 182 (everything)
Liquido(everything)
Sigur Ros (everything)
This Mortal Coil (everything)
In the Nursery (everything)
Bruce Springsteen (Ghost of Tom Joad Album)
Camel (Dust and Dreams album)
Beirut (lately)
Prodigy (everything except Fat of the Land)
Nine Inch Nails (got a flangy tape from a cousin, made it cooler!)

Songs:
New Order -Temptation
Orbital - Halcyon and Blue Illusion
The Cure - Close to Me
Ratty - Sunrise
Dead can Dance - The Host of Seraphim
This Mortal Coil - The Lacemaker
Dr Dre - Still Dre

All of the above is music i listened to a lot. But again i find it hard to say what comes through if i make music myself.

I notice many folks naming Apex Twin as an influence. I'd love to feel different and special and say i did'nt but i have to admit i played the shit out of selected Ambient Session.

games:
Our computer had a soundcard/calibration malfunction wich caused games to only play music. No sound effects. This in turn causes the gaming experience to be more detatched/indoctrinating.

Dune II ost
Lotus III ost
Wacky Wheels ost
Unreal Tournament ost (mostly Skyward Fire and Foregone Destruction)

But where does it stop really? For any of us?

I have a wide range of influnces but i noticed my music reflects on what artists im really listening to at that point in time. Im really big into Drum&Bass, Dubstep, Drumstep, Trance, Hip Hop, Hardcore and a couple others. As for the moment Im really into artist from Circus rec, such as Doctor P,Flux Pavillion,Funtcase etc. I like the chiptune influences these artists have. For me it started with chiptune. My original plan was to get a Gameboy and either a cart or ripped version of LSDJ. My biggest influence at that time was Sabrepulse. From there my music would change its sound every two months or so. I like also like trying new things even if im not in to the genre, so I can see how far I can take synth capabilities and song making.
But if I were to list all Artists that influence me musicly this would be it:
All of you on the Forum, Enter Shikari, Liquid Stranger, Sabrepulse, Gorillaz, Crystal Castles, Kanye West, Emalkay , Chiddy Bang, Unicorn Kid, The xx, Skream, Doctor P, The Cool Kids, Flux Pavillion, Funtcase, Benga, Datsik, Chase & Status,Pendulum, Rout , The Qemists, The Bumps on Adult Swim, And some more that I am forgeting to mention.
"hey this is my signature, it's not part of every post I make." lol

Henry Homesweet - Enter 5d has had a big effect on me.

Also KODEK's bass jams.

As well as MisfitChris' "The Howling" and Knife City's self-titled EP.
