What about DS-10+ from XSEED (not the ltd.ed. from AQ)? Does it work on european DSis?

Don't know, but I'm guession no, because I think there might be 4 regios?

Japan / USA / Europe / Australia

This is still a bit weird:

March 4, 2009 - When it launches April 5, the Nintendo DSi will be the first portable ever produced by the company to have any sort of region locking. We will still be able to play regular DS games from any territory, but the downloadable games exclusive to the new system will only be playable in your home base. Nintendo says it decided to lock out foreign territories because of the growing number of age ratings all over the world.

It speaks of download games, but not regular DSi games.

Damn... I think I'll buy a DSi at Amazon and return it instantly when this doesn't work.

I don't think Nintendo will release it here in Europe. I recently contacted one of Nintendo's salesmanagers. He was not informed about this title in any way. So, don't be suprised when you here that, if your a European, this will not be released in Europe. Bad luck though, because now I need to import a U.S dsiXL + U.S Korg DS-10+. Good excuse to buy this beautiful new look of the DSI

Korg DS-10 was released even in a Dutch version, so I still have hope...

If it isn't released in Europe it's really a shame ... But I have a plan B, buy another DS w/ korg DS-10, I know I won't have all the new song edition mode but still better than nothing and it costs less than a DSi + korg DS-10 +

I'm afraid is the same case for DSi exclusive games, or DSi "enhanced" games as is the case for DS10+. I own a japanese DS10+ and it does not work at all on an european DSi, while it works on a european DS Lite (no "dual mode").

Europe and Australia are the same game region so an Australian DS10+ will work on an european DSi.

------

About the european release...I saw this game listed on some gamestore but now is no longer there :(

DS10 was released in Japan as online only amazon-exclusive title. I dont know if this was also the case on america, but in Europe it was retailed on stores, so maybe they dont find any "reason" for to release it again...

To own another DS10 and a used DS is still a great idea, anyway.

(I'll left more impressions about DS10+ on ChrisLody thread)

By the way I believe AQI promised to release DS-10 Plus in retail stores in Japan, wasn't that in the DS-10 Plus Keynote or something? Did that happen?

I think so. I got DS10 as soon as it was released in Japan (at play-asia) and had to pay some extra money (play-asia have to buy it first to amazon japan), but this was not the case for DS10+, so i assume it is being retailed as usual.

Bad news: No worldwide release planned for DS-10 Plus

Post by DS-10 Dominator » Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:06 pm

Just had a message from sanodg (Nobuyoshi Sano - Producer KORG DS-10)...

there are NO plans for a worldwide release of KORG DS-10 PLUS. So it seems there will only be a Japanese AQI version (+ a limited edition) and the US XSEED version.

The market for korg ds is in japan and Europe I was very surprised with the us release. It's not in stores yet here. But best buy will carry it any day now ( it may get popular here?).

this really sucks!

well, what is the best way to import an american ds-10 + and dsi then?
i normally use play-asia.com to send japanese versions of stuff (to send to australia) but now i need it sent to korea... hmmmm.

thinking of a japanese dsi ll and a ds-10+ cart.

again, this sucks. what else is there to do but import?

Maybe sales will change their mind. I know I'm spreading the word about the DS 10 around.

I asked about the DSi Shop. Maybe a download edition would be a good solution then...

I don't know.
They don't have a plan "right now," but there is still a possibility in the future, I think.
I guess all you can do is sending e-mails to AQinteractive, and/or Sano.
Tell them you really want the worldwide release of DS-10+.

I use eBay to get stuff from the US.

My System

Se alguém se está a perguntar porque é que o KORG DS-10 Plus ainda não saiu na Europa (pois entretanto já saiu nos US), aqui está a resposta:

Citação:
Hello
I was looking at your website, and I was very interested on the KORG DS-10 Plus software.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find any reference to a European release date. This is important to me since I have an European Nintendo DSi, which I believe not to work with the American titles, including the recently released KORG DS-10 Plus.
Is there any prediction on the release date for Europe, or if you're planning on releasing outside of the US/Japan?
Citação:
Hello Filipe,

Unfortunately, there are no plans for KORG DS-10 Plus to be released in Europe at this time.

I wish I had better news for you.

Ken @ XSEED Games
Citação:
Hello,
Thank you for your reply. I have two additional questions.

Can you confirm that the US Version of KORG DS-10 Plus won't work on
the European models of the Nintendo DSi? Or if it works, what
limitations does it have, if any?

Also, is there any problem on quoting your replies publicly?

Thank you very much.
Citação:
Hi Filipe,

It's been documented that KORG DS-10 Plus does not work on European DSi's. And it's not a matter of the software, the region-locking is a feature of the DSi hardware itself so there is no way that we could bypass it with US software even if we wanted to. It may work on a regular Nintendo DS, but I can't say for certain (and even if it does it will be missing the DSi-specific features like Dual Mode).

Yes, feel free to post this wherever you want. You'll actually be doing me a favor as tons of people from Europe are inquiring about the same thing.

Ken @ XSEED Games
(Ignorem o meu Inglês manhoso... )

Ou seja, não há KORG DS-10 Plus para a Europa, nem a versão US funciona com DSi Europeias.
