I tried the demo + am a bit disappointed. The gui is a nightmare to work with. Its so small, you got an edit button that zooms in on sections of the synth which scrolls from one side to other. No wonder korg made a dedicated controller for this as i will only ever get this program if i could also get the controller for instant tweekage. The sound did have a nice fizzy tone that istn apparent on the DS10.

I did also try the wavestation + MDE-X (effects bundle). THink i will be buying the MDE-X it does do some nice standard effects as well as some quite unique sounding ones. Again the gui for this is tiny but theres not too much going on with them its easier to cope with.

Yeah i know what you mean. After my initial enthusiasm i went and read the review on SOS. They raised the issue of the gui which i was hoping had been fixed with a version update, sadly not. Also from what i can gather about the synth architecture i can already do everything it offers in software i already own. Shame.

I think i might spend the money instead on a flash cart for the DMG gameboy so i can finally have a go at LSDJ. I should be high enough on the quirk factor to not be easily repliacted in a DAW i reckon.

Same here, I will be sticking to u-he ACE. From what i read about the original MS20 is that its modular side on its own isnt that great but when you added modular sequencers + other modular synths/processors thats where it got exciting. Unfortunately the software version cannot be patched up to ACE or other stuff. You can still run any audio through it with is a little bonus but not enough to put up with gui.

Exactly, me too! U-he seems to love updating his plugins and throwing in little bonuses so i'm hoping he'll add audio in at some point.
