Glitch?

Postby AudioArtist » Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:38 am

Hello everyone,

I was working on a new tune today using some of the excellent new tricks and tidbits I've found here and I ran into a problem that hasn't happened to me in awhile.
After a certain point in working on the tune one of my synths locks onto whatever the last note played was. So when I have a segment where one of the synths should drop out I have instead a droning note.
Is this a glitch or am I just missing something obvious?
If anybody has experienced this and knows what I may be doing wrong I would appreciate it!
Well back to making music.

this has happened to me, it has to do with certain settings that deal with sustain, release, and delay, it also happens that certain settings on an instrument will carry over pattern changes and change the sound of another patch on the same instrument in the following pattern... it's really annoying and it tends to be one of the quirks of the synthesizer that I have to work around.

This can sometimes be used to advantage. . . .you can get more than 4 synth waves at once.....

That's what I noticed too, if I just barely turn down the sustain it fades out.....then comes right back again the next time I hit stop. :P

Interesting idea, but I don't know how to make it happen.

Thanks for the input, I'll have to watch out for those patch carry-overs too.

it has happened to me, but not with good sounds...
tha carry over is usually something nefarious that i have to go around.
if it ever was something cool i didn't notice and probably still don't. wouldn't know what to tweak to make it happen.

examples would be welcomed!

I think we have quite some of that weirdness on the auxpulse album http://auxpulse.bandcamp.com
on the track Transgressive for example.
