I'm new to the board, but quick intro: I make songs using Korg DS-10 when I'm bored, more like a hobby.
Anyway, I was poking around on SoundCloud and stumbled upon this compilation group, and after listening to some of the tracks was instantly inspired. So I created a track, knowing that I am very late to the party. Regardless if I'm too late to submit to the compilation or not, I thought I would share it here.

Haunted Bathroom

I'm not sure if it is final or not, but I don't have anything else to add. If it is not too late to submit to the compilation, it would be great, let me know if this is up to par. Feedback is appreciated!

HaHa, I also joined up on this site at the tail-end of the Journey Through Space comp.
You'll never find a more friendly and helpful online forum than here!
If you can, load a Wav. or Aiff. file of your bathroom track. I can work with your mp3 if I must however.
Post it to the group on soundcloud or post a downloadable here in this thread.

Ok, I uploaded a .wav version of the track onto the SoundCloud group. Thanks to both of you for the welcome :)

Love the haunted bathroom track! Made me laugh but in a very good way, the running water sound is perfect.

Thanks for the compliments! I was surprised how quickly I was able to find a running water sound, but I guess after 3 years of using it I'm pretty familiar with DS-10 now.

The Bathroom track is great. It has a very John Carpenter feel to it.

The deadline is quickly approaching!!
I still need final versions of:

The Office - DJ Hollow Life
The Solarium- SBK?
The Sports/Exercise Room- Kloudygirl
The Elevator - T.M.Hector
The Garage - Bryface

Some of these, however, I can find/download WIP versions of. Of those, some are mp3's. Hopefully you all will submit final versions before the deadline. But, if not, should I use those or leave them out? Any thoughts?

As far as all the tracks I do have already, I must say that it is quite an experience listening to them as a nearly complete group. Everyone has done a great job on their tracks and I'm positive that this will be a very enjoyable comp. to listen to. Mere words couldn't describe how exciting and well done all of your submissions are, how well they fit together, and how fun it has been to work on them. Thank You! Excellent work to you all and get those finals posted up!! :)

:) Okay!! I've got everything finished but I've got a few personal notes to get through first. If you are too anxious to get through this just scroll down to my next post and you'll find the link to get your album there. ;)

@DS10-Dominator - I tried for several hours but bandcamp crashed my computer everytime I tried to upload. :?
So, I uploaded to trusty archive.org instead. You could still grab the .WAV files and upload to
bandcamp if you'd like. Also, I made some modifications to your "storyline" but nothing drastic.
You can see these in my next post or go to the link.

@AnthonySeeha - I didn't combine/crossfade/mix your track with Harleys'. Sorry about that. When you see how
much time I invested in the comp. I hope you'll forgive me.

@mchl nrvs- I decided to use the dry (no delay) ver. of your track.

Everyone who submitted a track WIP or Final is included. So if you posted a WIP but no Final, your WIP is the one I used and vice versa.
I've taken about 60-70 hours to master this comp. so I'm personally quite pleased considering I had to deal with 23 different sources. However, I know that I can't please everyone. I encourage you to just listen to the album as a whole and then do your own comparison of the track you sent me and my master, I feel confident that you will be at least satisfied if not pleased with the results.

Alright, here's the boring technical stuff:
I've done some eq'ing of the tracks just to make them more consistent with each other when analyzed with a real time spectrum analyzer.
All of the tracks will peak at 0.0dbfs.
All the tracks will average about -15 to -12rms.
All tracks will peak between -9.2 and -7.0rms. The average is the more important of the figures though, in terms of apparent volume.
Ok, that's enough of an essay, next post is the fun stuff!

Thanks for all your work, I'm proud, sounds like a hell of a job! Can't wait to get listening.... but, I'm sorry, several things are not right yet before it can be released (promoted) into the public...

- ID3 tags have not yet been filled in (+ artwork needs to go in there to eventually)
- This is not the final artwork. It looks nice but: Who made it? Do we have clearance on the image on the background? The URL on it is wrong.

This is why I suggested running it through bandcamp first, you can edit ID3 tags and artwork per track there, without having to reupload.

I'll take care of all of this from here on, and after that will reupload to archive.org

Could you make it so that I can download all WAVs at once from archive? I see only a ZIP link for OGG and VBR MP3. If not I'll just click save on all the WAVS, no big deal.

Thanks a lot for your work, AudioArtist. This seems to be the only thing left for to make a compilation from this forum even more memorable.

I like the artwork as it is...But I understand the issues DS10-Dominator points out must be clarified.

If you wanted to use that cover:

The haunted mansion image is public domain, the top font is also free to use. The bottom one requires $5 to be posted to the guy that made the font's address to use it, could easily be changed to a free font though.

The stylus however, I think I robbed from the ds10 cover, don't know whether that matters, could easily be replaced with a different one.

Hey Tommy, it's cool artwork. Maybe you can pick another font of http://www.dafont.com or something or pay the 5 dollars if you won't mind. Please change the text to DS10FORUM.COM without the dash, and maybe you can make it 600x600, I think that is the regular album art size for embedding in mp3?

I appologize for the mistakes DS10-Dominator. I made a zip of all the waves this afternoon.
Would you like me to post it to the archive.org page or send it to you through sendspace?
Then would you like me to kill the archive.org page?
And I suppose I should go ahead and take down Tommy Creeps' cover now?
Let me know and I'll get it all done tonight. :)

Here's a new version, it's 700x700 as that's the size the stock picture was, and the bigger the better resolution, i'm sure bandcamp can reduce it as necessary without compromising the quality. If you need a 600x600 specifically that's no problem. It's a .PNG as .PNG is lossless as far as i'm aware and is accepted by most sites/browsers. If anything needs to be changed let me know.

Downloaded, tagged all the WAVs (hopefully bandcamp can read those tags), corrected a few mistakes in the artist names.

Now I tried to register ds10forum.bandcamp.com but apparently it's already taken, Harley did you do this?
