AuxPulse - Dream Stages

Michael and I (Rutger) met through our mutual obsession with a small synthesizer for the Nintendo DS (KORG DS-10). At that time I was mainly focussing on rave music (house, gabber, etc.), while Michael was exploring the mystical side of electronic music (IDM, ambient, etc). We decided to work on an album that was truly a 50-50 mix of both our styles, with classic acid sounds as a binding factor.

Now, about one year later, we very proudly present our album 'Dream Stages'. We put our hearts and souls into hand crafting all the synthesizer sounds and subsequently composing psychedelic rave music with a nostalgic touch. The whole album was made using KORG DS-10, by bouncing 'saves' back and forth between both our DSes.

Playing as many live shows as possible is our next objective. Live... meaning with lots of improvisation and strange surprises.

A new journey begins, thank you for joining our path...

Woops fixed. Yep, Michael did an amazing job making some of those boc-style synth patches.

Yeah a bit of a BoC feel with Autechre style percussion. Very cool. Cool logo too. I haven't listened to it all yet but will make my way through it. Great sounding project!

Thanks Syscrusher! Rutger and I were quiet pleased with the BoC vibe, and were thinking of doing an album with just the type of sound/vibe.

Well, I would descibe it as a 50/50 deal. We exchanged tracks that we both had been working on, and then tweak it all the way till we were both satisfied. I really learned a lot recording this album when it comes to soundstructure and songconstruction.

Thanks EDO!

Every now and then we would meet up in my studio to listen and copy each other's tracks. On one hand it's a pity that it's not very easy to share ds-10 tracks over the internet, on the other hand it brought us together in real life which I think was quite important to influence each other, although most of the work we did without the other person around, in public transport for example.

Public Transport, my most important area for inspiration! I really recommend it to you all.

Got a chance to listen to the whole thing today in headphones and it really is impressive both in imagination and fidelity. Congratulations on a job well done! Can't wait to hear your further collaborations.
