Mind Control EP

Post by SDK » Thu Sep 23, 2010 8:45 pm

Hey guys!

So, I made this EP over the last week or so (I have a lot of free time). Its pretty short, 4 tracks, just under 12 minutes I think. Its all DS-10, plugged straight into the line in on my laptop. I'm still really new to the DS-10, as I just got mine two weeks ago. But It sure is fun to use, I'd say at least 500% more fun than using like FLstudio or Reason 8-) .

Anyways, its all weird acid techno. 303-esque bass lines and what not. I'll probably be making all sorts of other styles in the future, I just started with this.

before I "Officially" release this, I'd like to get your opinions on a few things, mainly the leveling, as I no longer have monitors, the entire thing was made in headphones, and the only other ways I can listen are with my laptop speakers, or like a guitar amp.

So yeah, heres the tracks.

I was thinking of perhaps adding a little more variation to the Cutoff/peak automation?? What do you think?

good sounds and riffs and all, but -- and i'm not exaggerating at all -- i honestly had to check the 4 tracks over again to make sure they weren't exactly the same song. next time, try tweaking your drum sounds to add some variety between songs.

They all sound good, and it's good work for such a short time, but I have to agree with bryface... they are all very similar. I mean, just look at the waveforms... they are all full-on, drums pounding, 4 on the floor songs. I think more variation, with some breakdowns and buildups, as well as in the drum patterns, could help change that.
