[USB Windows] Backup USB: Nds Adaptor Plus / SaveDongle

About sound design and composing with DS-10 (PLUS). How do I make this sound? How do I get this groove? How can I automate this? What can I do live?

[USB Windows] Backup USB: Nds Adaptor Plus / SaveDongle

Postby ChrisLody » Fri Mar 05, 2010 7:20 pm

I got my Nds Adaptor Plus the other day so if anyone has the same deivce feel free to raid my save for patches. Also an easy way for me to keep a remote backup. I'll keep it updated periodically.

This save was made from the european/uk version of the game and was created using NDS Adaptor Plus, if it makes any difference.

EDIT: It seems this save will NOT work with ds-10 plus as it was made with the original ds-10.

WARNING! Don't forget to backup your own save first or you'll erase all your own work!

Let's keep save file questions it in this topic.

There are many different R4(i) cards, a typically Chinese copy-cat phenomenon I guess... Each has its own site for firmware etc. just try if you can rename the save file to the one automatically created by your R4. If it doesn't work then it's not compatible. In that case you could try the save game converter @ http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php Edit: ah sorry, I don't think it will work in this case, I don't see anything about the NDS Adaptor on it.

On the DS10forum.com we stand for an original cart + the NDS Adaptor.

By the way: is there an NDS adaptor for DSi? Or can you transfer DS-10 Plus (dual songs) to DS-10 and backup from there... I guess not?

Did you get the NDS Adapter or NDS Adapter plus? Can you share the link where you ordered this item please? Do this work with Korg DS-10 Plus? Can you map out the steps you follow to load others sav files with the NDS Adapter plus? Thanks

http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog/NDS-Backup-Adapter-Plus-p-3018.html has copies available for sale.
http://www.hkems.com/product/nintendo/0907.htm has a description of the adaptor, plus a downloadable user manual (can also order from this site.)

I've heard the latest version of Datel's Action Replay (DSi) has the ability to backup and restore save files as well. Have only seen it listed on amazon.com (not amazon.ca, nor even on Datel's own website!) Looks like the Action Replay - Media Edition also has some capability for backing up and restoring saves for DS/DS Lite. Some have had mixed success with Datel's products, though. Can't say I've had any problems with their Games'n'Music cartridge myself. But Action Replay is a bit of overkill for what I want--I'll be grabbing one of these NDS Adaptor Plus gadgets myself.

Thanks for the links k8. Can anyone map out the file sav process using NDS? What are file extensions? How does one load someone else SAV file?

Its real simple to use.

Once you have the adaptor connected and the cart in you load up the the software and you have a pc-cart button and a cart-pc button. You get to tell it where to save and give the save a name, then when loading you just pick the file you want. dead easy. :)

I got mine from Ebay in the UK by the way.

According to the 2nd link I had inserted in a previous post, the adapter should work from Windows 7 down through Windows 98/98SE. (7, Vista, 2000, XP, ME, 98, 98SE)

ah, but only for 32-bit operating systems--no support for 64-bit, regardless of the flavour.

Just a small update with some unfinished 80's covers.

This save was made from the european/uk version of the game and was created using NDS Adaptor Plus, if it makes any difference.

It seems this save will NOT work with ds-10 plus as it was made with the original ds-10.
