That first video is just amazing. I think I'm going to use this Orchestra Hit tutorial and add it to one of my tracks.

Thanks for sharing!

I found these on youtube the other day and the first thing I thought of was mortal kombat remix. However I tried to recreate this sound for HOURS and it never worked... I was totally disapointed.

I was able to recreate this with a bit of effort. I think that this particular setting/patch is one of those really elusive ones that require tons of patience. I could never get it to sound quite as good as the sound in the vid but, it came across the same way.
I will say though that messing with the tutorial for this sound opens some very interesting doors with what can be done with the DS10. It's how I got my tamborine/sleigh bell/stick-on-a-cymbal stand sound.

It took a while and a lot of fiddling with the knobs, but I eventually managed to get something close to this. It's awesome, now I just need to do something with it. :)

I think the trick here isn't so much trying to copy this guy's settings, as it is copying his work flow. You can't even see the knobs in the video at times, anyway. What's valuable is watching the way he flips back and forth... as a beginner, just seeing how to navigate the menus and experiment was really helpful!
