Strings and Orchestral Patches
Strings and Orchestral Patches
I'm wondering if there's any way to generate an orchestral string type patch?
I remember bryface posted a DS-10 orchestral arrangement on 8BC a while back and I was wondering if a patch can be shared for pizzacato, or just regular legato strings?
Here's bryface's arrangement:

Re: Strings and Orchestral Patches
I have a string patch that I used in my haunted mansion compilation song. I'll gladly share that. I know a few others have very excellent string patches as well. IAC and WMRhapsodies in particular I believe.

Bah, that iAC guy...
I shared a string patch here. There's a picture, but I think may be more interesting to follow the description:

The VC01 Pitch to VC02 patch can make some awful noises, but also quite expressive violin/violoncello impersonations.

Ugly noises indeed, but sometimes those could be the ones you're looking for!
I'm a sucker for drones and heavy layered noise, so messing around with those parameters can really summon the demons inside the ds10...
Thanks for sharing that patch! Will try it today

That's right, didn't want to be disrespectful to ugly sounds
Thanks for the kind words at Ylenia's thread. Sorry if I removed the original track, three of them were like too much for my Soundcloud. I'm listening at your stuff right now and liking it a lot!.

Cheers, man!
Later today I'll go through yours. Was away all weekend with no internetz and my free time has been directed to a few tracks i'm working on.
would you mind sharing an image of your string patches? and any cool patch that you might think is unique!
i never steal patches, mind you. always modify them to make them fit the song.
i've noticed that a lot of times, patches don't work by themselves. they harmonize and change a lot with the other stuff sounding, plus the tempo and swing that mess with other values or parameters, there's lot of room for exploration. and me being someone not versed on synths prior to the ds10, my grain of sand for the community is that anyone can intuitively find cool sounds buried deep within the tiny beast. it's a drag trying to make a definite sound sometimes, though
