Help with DS10 Plus

Hey all...

Glad I discovered this board. Looks like lots of cool stuff and good musicians up on here. Anyway...I'm doing a new choon on DS10plus and I'm having an issue with patterns.

Do you get 32 patterns while in Dual mode? If so, how do I switch back and forth between pattern sets? I've tried everything I can think of and the patterns always reflect changes on both banks....

The first DS10plus tune I did only had 16 patterns, so it wasn't an issue. You can check it out here, btw:

Hey there.
I was a little confused about that as well when I first got the DS-10+. In a sense you get 32 patterns but it's better to think of them as 16 dual layered patterns. For instance, in song mode the patterns in deck A and B are "stacked", that is when you select say pattern 5, song mode will play the patterns from deck A and B simultaneously. You could mute all the tracks of one deck and then the other and get 32 regular DS-10 patterns or use the channels together to get more voices per pattern. Another interesting feature in song mode is that there is a song mode per deck. That is, you can either do two arrangements of the same 16 patterns or extend the song from the A arrangement into the B arrangement thus getting a 200 pattern length rather that just 100. I've yet to do the latter myself but I like knowing the option is there.

Thanks! and yeah, it's a bit of a bummer about only 16 patterns. There seems to be a consensus around here that more patterns would be welcome in a future version although it is interesting to work within the limitations and fudge it anyway you can.

Yeah the 16 pattern thing is killing me. When I share my music with my friends, they all have the same disappointed response, and when I tell them that I have only 16 patterns, they are always like, "oh, that makes sense."
