looking for a ride cymbal patch

Hi,

I'd like to know if someone has ever succeeded in making a ride cymbal patch for the drum pattern of the korg ds-10? I must admit that I am a big fan of the ride and I failed each times I tried to make a synth's one.

Try making a hi-hat like sound. Noise + Sine mix for example. Then put a delay on it, play with the settings, but crank the feedback 100% open. I've made amazing cymbals with this effect, it probably is kind of a Karplus-Strong effect (noise bursts through feedbacked delay) that makes it work. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can't do Karplus-Strong sound in the drum patch on the korg ds-10 (because the delay doesn't work the same way) ?

I think you're right about that .

If you want a long delay as with a crash cymbal, you would be better of using syn1 or syn2. If you set notes to legato, you can use the delay for a long fading crash sound.

The sound itself should be possible with just noise and a bandpass filter with high resonance.

I found a ride cymbal patch, I did it in the drum sample, of course it doesn't stand the comparison to a real ride cymbal but I think it's quite good.
