Live oriented ds-10 scratch patch in action, anyone?

Post by DifficultListening » Wed Jul 07, 2010 10:20 am

Hi folks,

I thought I should quit my lurking ways and start contributing; would anyone be interested in a record scratch patch for the DS-10 that is meant for live scratching on the KP?

Some improv, with demonstration of the patch settings - I really need to get in a copy of DS-10 Plus to allow live playing over sequenced patterns:

And a little track with some scratching:

If the patch settings are not clear enough in the first video, let me know. The camera stand and lighting arrangement could do with some work, and then I need to sort out a line input for the DS-10 rather than playing through a portable Walkman speaker... :)

Nice :D. Fits well with the oldschool electro vibe.

that's pretty awesome. it kinda reminds me of toejam & earl panic on funkatron. ...then again... every synth-scratch sounds like that to me... this is by far the best one I've heard though, and you can use it pretty well, and it's very impressive. if I saw you in person at some random place, and you started doing that, I'd be completely floored.

and no, you don't need the DS10+... you need 2 DS's with 2 patterns, and 2 people. One person scratches with a drum-beat, while the other has a pattern with a bassline, then they leave it run for a bar or 2, and then they each switch patterns, and the other is scratching. you know... DS10 DJ Battle. That would be kinda cool.

Whoa, I missed this one. I really like that. Could we see the patch a little better?
I have a song I can use this in live.

Blimey thats good! :D I'd love to have a play around with that myself.
Any chance you could take some photos of the patch for us to see on the forum? its a little easier photographing the screen than capturing patches on a video camera.

Hi folks, I'm finally back after some very difficult months, and I'll be posting pics and tutorials for this scratch patch next week. Also, a "new" track going up in the appropriate forum after this post.
