Unmanned

Post by Geolm » Sun Jun 19, 2011 12:25 pm

Hi,

I've been quite busy these last months but I eventually had enough time to make a full 100% ds-10+ song, so here it is. I think it's a bit different from my "usual style", it sounds like a bit more experimental but notice that soundcloud has completely destroyed the quality of the wave, my ears can't stand the mp3-lowbiterate version, sorry for that.

hope you like it, can't wait for your comments ;)

PS: you must have a sub woofer or use a headphone.

Nice! I like the contrast of the second section. The beat is cool and understated.

Awesome song. I really like the minimal approach. Can I get access to a higher quality version?

I have enabled the downloading of the flac from soundcloud, you can get it if you want. Notice how the "chain" sound on the right sounds different.

Soundcloud does not change the original downloadable MP3, it just compresses the stream another time to 128Kbps.

True, but the original file is a flac w/o compression :)

You're right the FLAC version has so much more detail and clarity.

Can I ask, did you record this from a DSi?? It's just my output from my DS lite could never get sounds this clear but I think my girlfriends DSi could (but she has a UK DSi and I have a US DS-10+, incompatible)...

Really really loving this, reminds me of some Fever Ray a bit, we really need more stuff like this////

Yes I did, I use the dual mode from my DSi north america. I think one should not underestimate the role of the soundcard when recording music, I tried to record ds with integrated soundcard of my laptop and the sound is horrible... I had to switch back to a "real" soundcard :)
