LPChip - Spooky Forest

Post by LPChip » Mon Aug 16, 2010 3:33 pm

This must be one of my better Korg DS-10 tracks, as its still one of my favorites. Have you ever heard reverb on a Korg DS-10? Well, technically, its not really reverb, but the delay, that produces a similar effect to reverb. I used this to create strings like sound. My initial goal was to create an Ambient track. I even set the BPM to 10 and it worked quite well. Too bad that I got all these faster melodies in my head that I couldn't write down due to the speed. So I decided to set the speed higher and clear the patterns. I ended up with 45 BPM. I'm very proud on the sounds that I made.

I like that alot. I was trying a reverb style delay on a song I'm working on. How did you set yours up?

Very soothing track:), reminds me a bit of Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, ...

was one of the first DS-10 songs I came across on Youtube. Nice strings, and nice other sounds!

(Btw delay is the basis of many effects, I think: reverb, chorus, flanger, comb filtering and some other filtering techniques involving phase differences, stereo widening, feedback, haas effect, flutter, Doppler effect)

Yeah, you're right. :) I really love the delay. One of the best features of the DS-10 if you ask me.
