Sword Fight

About sound design and composing with DS-10 (PLUS). How do I make this sound? How do I get this groove? How can I automate this? What can I do live?

Hey all,

I was listening to The Prodigy – Breathe and wondering if anyone has come up with a way/patch to make that sword ‘whoosh’ and ‘clang’ sound?

This would be awesome!

Cheers.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Remix it.

Have you found anything? I wish I was smart enough to design my own sounds and I would be all over it. I have been looking for somebody to design custom sounds for me, but it seems like an expensive proposition after seeing all of the online reviews. Have you guys ever seen Angie's List reviews?

For metallic sounds you can try

FX SCREEN: the delay effect with a very short delay time, enough feedback and wet level.
PATCH SCREEN: feed VCO2 back into VCO1 or another input. Or connect an MG oscillator with high MG speed to any of the inputs.
SYNTH SCREEN: put some EG on PITCH and FILTER. Get the Attack/Decay/Sustain/Release right. A swoosh for example has some build up, so it should have some attack.

Hope it helps a little!
