Totally lost and confused

Postby WmsXjinn » Tue Mar 23, 2010 12:39 am

Hi there.

Let me start off my saying I have no musical talent whatsoever. None, zip, nothing at all.

I don't even know why I got the Korg DS-10 XD But yeah it's fun to mess with. Obviously, with my lack of any musical talent, it all makes my ears bleed.

As for taste in music, I'm mostly into hardcore and post hardcore. I recently started listening to LIGHTS, and from there I got more interested in stuff like Sabrepulse and DatsiK.

I don't really listen to a lot of instrumental stuff, but I do LOVE the little bit of dubstep I listen to.

I would really help it if people here could help me out with stuff, from simple tutorials and help to just about anything. What I'm really hear for is to learn how to make a wobble bass sound, I can't seem to get it right <_<. I come close sometimes, but it just doesn't seem right.

Oh yeah my name. You guys can call me whatever XD WMS, Jinn, whatever

Hey Jinn,

welcome! I'll start posting (beginners) tutorials on the forum soon. Please keep checking.

Don't be scared of the things you can't do, you don't need to know musical theory or play keys to make electronic music (although it is useful of course).

That's weird, i was just coming on here to suggest a whole newbie/basics section of the fourm. I've been wondering if that's why we're getting losts of non posting members.

I have been helping out Burrisplace via email and private message and it has made me realise how confusing ds10 can be for beginners. That's the biggest problem with ds10 really, no official support. It appeals to a mass market that think 'Hmmm, i'd like to make some music with my ds.......What the f**k is an oscillator', so i suppose that's where we come in!

There's plenty of beginner tutorial videos out there we can link to so it'd be nice to put them all in one place. Neatly alongside a section where people can ask questions about the basics. I'm willing to help answer newbie questions if i can.

Thanks for all the welcomes :)

And yeah, the reason I actually came here was because I got a tweet from DS10Dominator saying there would be tutorials up on the forums soon :P

All help would be greatly appreciated :D
