Snild Dolkow, live @ Malmöfestivalen 2011

Postby QauNuckShin » Fri Sep 30, 2011 2:35 pm

So, as I mentioned a while ago, I played this pretty large festival at the end of August. I've finally got some videos up. Most of the videos themselves are not super interesting, so here is a small selection (first one for awesomeness, the others because you guys haven't heard them before).

The complete gig playlist can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLB96D1B9739A8121D

Two Nintendo DS's with Korg DS-10, one stylus and a bottle of water.
(Two DS's in order to be able to load the next song while another one is playing - they were never actually playing simultaneously.)

The whole backline was supplied by the festival, so I had nothing to do with that. They gave me my two 3.5mm male stereo connectors and I just filled them with glorious tunage. :D

(BTW, subtitles are on their way - I'll let you know when you guys may have a chance to understand what I'm saying!)

Edit: Subtitles are now up! Let me know if I've missed anything.

Yes!

The best thing about it is it makes me really recognizable. I played on one of the smaller stages at the festival at 6 PM. A couple of hours later, in another part of town, there were random people coming up to me telling me how awesome I was! Which was great, of course.

Careful with that shirt though... It may make you more recognizable but it may take over your identity entirely ;)
That shirt has a way of "sticking" to it's owner...

hey, just wanted to say awesome performance! your tunes have a cool eurpoean demoscene quality to them that i totally appreciate, being a demoscene enthusiast myself. (though i'm more of a poser because there's no demoscene community in my corner of canada)

actually i've been really impressed by the live DS-10 performances that have cropped up in the recent months. i think everyone's collectively starting to figure out how it "should" be done. i'll be doing a couple of live performances myself this coming month, so seeing these videos gives me some relief that it's doable and people will enjoy it without having to bend their minds too far.

Thanks!

Yeah, it's fine. No need to worry. Just bring some awesome tracks, and people won't care how you make them. Well, that's not true. But the way you make them will never make people less impressed. ;)

Thanks.

Yeah, most of my songs are pattern mode only. Since I use the classic DS-10 (not +), I can't do anything while playing in Song Mode.
