So, what do you think? Would you say I did a good job following the rules of dubstep? I personally think I did a good job. But I suppose it's up to you guys to decide.

I think it works, just needs a much, much, much stronger kick drum!

Yeah, i agree with Christian, needs a stronger kick, i recommend layering the snare drum with a hi hat that has been pitched down an octave or 2 to give the snare some release, maybe change the snare round a bit so it is a bit more punchy around the 200hz area.
Nice sounding bass.
